CLIMATE

The Climate of Equatorial   Guinea is tropical and humid, with  many seasons. The average  temperature is situated around the 25° C and 98%o relative humidty. According to the facts taking in 1 991 it shows on 128  days of rain in a year in the  Bioko island  and also in Malabo it has gotten 1903,1 mm. of water.

In the Continental Region on 113 days of rain according to the facts gotten in 1991 it shows 1714,1 mm. of water.

There exist two diffrent seasons the dry season which runs from may to september and the raining season which runs from october to april

  The population of Equatorial Guinea was estimated in 2008 to be 970 000 in habitants 
Equatorial Guinea is a bilingual country : spanish and french. It has many national languages

In 2 january 1985, Equatorial Guinea becomes a member of the Franc zone which replaces its  local money : Bipwele.

On the  19 december 1983,

The Radio

There are three state radio station in Equatorial Guinea : 

  Radio Malabo ,
  Radio Bata and
  The  voie of Kie Ntem.

The first two radios transmit daily from 6 a.m to 11 p.m for a total of 16 hours of daily transmition of each radio.

It exist also one private radio, called radio Asonga, created by the son of the President in transmitting propaganda in favour of his father and for himself.

The electrical power failure disturbs the transmission

The press exist in Equatorial Guinea since the year 1942.  
In Malabo , the following news papers are publish in spanish:
  El Tiempo, La Opinión, La Gaceta, El Ebano
  La Verdad, La voz del pueblo.
In Bata, the news  «Poto-poto» is  publish once a week.
 

The Television

 

It exist two channels of television: one in Malabo and the other in Bata. Programs starts as from 7 p.m and is only on week end that programs start as from 5 p.m and terminates 11 p.m 
The current magine renders difficulty in the normal functionning of the press in Equatorial Guinea.

Island Region.

 

 

The Bioko Island   
  . It is constituted of:The Bioko Island  which is in the form of a parallelogram, is situated in the Golf of Guinea. It is opposite the  Cap Debunga  and divides the  Biafra  bay into two. The Maximal distance of the  East and west comprise of  between the mouth of Rio Bama and Punta Salvador, which is about 40 Km. and the minimum distance north-south measures an environ of 80 Km. (Bahia of Venus-Ureca).

Finally, there is the
Annobon island  and other small islands. The Island  Region is administratively divided into three provinces.

The northern prouvince of BIOKO , head quater of Malabo, constitutes three districts :  District of Malabo, Rebola and that of  Baney.

The  Province of South Bioko , head quater  Luba,  constitutes two districts :Luba and  Riaba.

Continental   Region  

 
  Named  Rio Muni, Continental Region is in the form of a trapeze rectangle.. On the artificial frontier. Its enclave between Gabon in South east and in Cameroon in the North.
The maximal distance west-east is about 223 km.  ( Cap San Juan -Nsor) and minimum distance north - south of an environ of 130 Km.( Micomiseng- Acurenam).
It is far, and the most biggest and the most populated with four  provinces:
Littoral Province ,  head quater  Bata, with seven districts:
Bata, Machinda, Rio Campo, Cogo, Mbini, Corisco and Bitica

 Kie Ntem Province , head quater Ebebiyin, with six districts:
Ebebiyin, Micomiseng, Bidjabidjan, Nkue, Nsang et Nsok Nsomo.

Wele Nzas Province , head quater Mongomo, with six  districts:
Mongomo, Akonibé, Mongomeyen, Ayene,Añisok and Nsork.

Central South Province , head quater Evinayong, with six districts:
Evinayong, Bicurga, Nkimi, Niefang and Acurenam.
 
Equatorial Guinea has a total of 29  districts  or division

The actual result of telecommunication relief or takeover the two distinct entities:

with  postal functioning  and  links of  the Radio between  Malabo and in all other  towns in the country .

Tourists can take photos on all the national territory, with the exception of:

¨     In strategics sites, military installations  and state safety. 
¨     In the case of professional or commercial photographers , it will imperatively have an agreement from the minister of culture, of tourisme and of craft promotion to carry out the objects of its activities.

This confirms on article 1 and 2 of the decree number 42/1991 of 20 May, regularising the exercise of photographers and the liberty of access on tourists in the national touristics sites.(*).
